Each year CIO, Inc. awards a collegiate scholarship to a student who has expressed interest in continuing their education in the field of information technology (IT). We do this as both a thank you to our client schools and to assist a deserving student in their pursuit of a higher education. The CIO Technology Scholarship is merit based, but need is considered as a differentiator between equally qualified candidates. For eligibility, all candidates must:

Attend a school in a district that has purchased CIO equipment or services in the last year; Be a high school senior, graduating Spring semester, and currently accepted to a four-year college/university which you will be attending this coming Fall; Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (or equivalent); Have taken at least two semesters of high school classes dedicated to information technologies; Have previous to this application expressed interest in pursuing your studies in the field of information technologies.

The CIO Technology Scholarship is for $500, to be paid to the attended college/university in the name of the student, with half payment made in the Fall semester this year and half in the subsequent Spring semester.

CIO strongly encourages young women to consider this scholarship and a field of study in IT. IT is largely underrepresented by women and our industry and communities would only stand to gain from a more diversified workgroup in this field.
